Does Your Incredible Factor have STYLE?-Darnyelle A. Jervey

Just to be clear, I’m not talking about the way you dress or your hair style. I’m not talking about how you enter a networking event or the way you shake a hand. I’m not even talking about your business card or company brochure.

Although each of these are important to the image you portray when you are out and about sharing your Incredible Factor with others, today we are talking about creating a STYLE that offers Solutions That have ideal clients Yearning to Learn how they can Experience working with you.

That’s right, your goal as a service-based entrepreneur (coach, author, speaker, event planner, hair stylist, attorney, trainer, consultant, etc) is to present yourself in such a compelling way that your ideal clients rise up and say, “He/she is talking to me, they can solve my problem. I can’t afford not to get their solutions.”

You MUST become a problem solver.

If your Incredible Factor is not solving a problem in the marketplace, you have no STYLE and if you have no STYLE you have no clients, no income, no business.

When you lack STYLE, people look at you funny and your phone doesn’t ring. No one wants to spend time with you because they are afraid others will see them in your presence. They see spending time with you as a waste because all you do is talk a good game without any evidence to support it.

If you truly want your passion to produce a profit, then you need to create compelling marketing materials that create an eruption in the lives of your prospects. They will be ready to do anything and pay anything to finally solve their problem because you are showing them the solution.

Successful entrepreneurs have figured this out and they have taken their STYLE to the next level. They are using their Incredible Factor to serve the world in a big way because they realize that people need their Incredible Factor, just like people need yours.

Your job is to first get STYLE and then to share it so it begins to attract your ideal clients and grow your business. Remember the universal law of business “find people who are currently experiencing the problem that you solve who are ready RIGHT NOW to pay for a solution”? This is the key to closing another client, getting booked for one more speaking engagement, being referred to plan another event, etc.

Want STYLE:

1. Develop a mindset that allows you to get out of your own way and focus on sharing your STYLE with those who need you. 95% of everything is attitude [mindset] only 5%, which is fully teachable and transferable, is skill.

You should get excited; yet, FEAR shuts many people down (perhaps even you) because they have a self-sabotaging mindset and they can’t see beyond their own mess. As a good friend of mine says, “get out of your head and into your heart.” That’s where your Incredible Factor does its best work. That is where you realize the intrinsic value you offer to the lives of others.

Your EGO keeps you afraid of what having STYLE will mean and therefore your business suffers, which means your family suffers as well. I know that you didn’t go into business to suffer; you went into business to make a profound difference and share your STYLE with others.

Your Incredible Factor has absolutely nothing to do with you; it is about and for others to be served in a big way. When you lack confidence and believe that no one wants to work with you or you buy into the lies you’ve been told for a very long time, (no one wants your product or service, you are not qualified for the business you have, people will know you’re a fraud, etc.) your STYLE quotient goes way down. It’s true; people want to work with experts who know they have STYLE and gladly share their STYLE so they can be enriched, empowered and informed and most importantly so their problems can be solved.

2. Get clear on the problems of your ideal client. Get clear on how you solve those problems. Get testimonials to support the results you say you offer.

If you are not sure what you do for your clients, ask them. I’m sure they’d be happy to tell you.

Consider sending a survey to determine what they need to go to their next level as it pertains to the services you provide. Go back through your client folders and look at the notes you’ve made after their initial consultation and as you worked directly with them. What did you uncover?

Also, look at your top 5 clients; you know the ones that if you could get 100 more of them, you’d be set. What do they all have in common? What was their problem? What brought them to work with you? What did you do for all of them? Did they consistently share how your ideas and advice with others that made a difference in their lives? Did they refer others to work with you because you solved their problem?

Sidebar, if you cannot answer these questions or you don’t like the responses, I recommend investing in a business coach or mentor to help you identify the answers to these questions.

If you want STYLE, you’ve got to be willing to say, “I need help,” and invest in your business to get it. Remember, if you don’t invest in yourself to solve your problems, clients will not invest in you.

3. Determine what questions you can ask to engage your ideal prospects. In my world, we call these “pull marketing questions,” because they “pull” them in to your solution to their problem.

If they come on their own, you don’t have to beg and plead or lower your prices to get them to join your program, become your client, etc.

What can you put on your website, business card, include in your 30-second commercial that will let ideal prospects that are listening, reading, following you, know that YOU have the solution they’ve been searching for?

4. Once you get clear on their problems and your solutions, to enhance your STYLE, offer a high-value, high content irresistible free offer for them to get tuned into your STYLE.

People love to buy but they will only buy when they know you, like you and trust you. Perhaps a free tele-class (be sure your title and content is results oriented NOT processes focused.)

People don’t care how you do what you do, they care about results. If you can show them consistently that you are the ONLY solution to their growing problems, they will begin to say “I like your STYLE.”

5. Share your free offer everywhere so that they can self-select to learn more and once you’ve been given an audience with them, use your STYLE to solve their problem!

7 Quick Tips for Adding More Value to Your Products and Services--Darnyelle A. Jervey

In order to consistently attract ideal, paying clients, it must become your mission to ensure that everything you do and offer to your ideal clients exceeds their needs and expectations. Gone are the days when you can get away with an attempt to solve a problem, today you MUST be the clear solution and add enough value to stand out amongst your peers in the industry. Gone are the days when "just enough" will lead to an influx of ideal clients. In today's marketplace, you must go above and beyond if you want to keep a steady flow of ideal clients on your roster.

Exceptional customer service remains a top reason why people return to a previous supplier for a new repeat or additional service. Despite what economists tell you, people are still buying, but if you want to be the recipient of your ideal client's spending dollars, you must add value.

If you're not getting the response you want from your ideal clients it is because you've not fully expressed the value of your product or service in terms that makes them want to buy right now.

When the focus on your business practices include adding significant value to your ideal clients, you will increase your brand perception - that is, the way others see who you are and the value you add in the marketplace. As your brand perception increases, you are also earning brand equity, just like equity in your home, increases the value you represent in the marketplace, consistently over time.

When it comes to adding value, your goal must be to offer additional items or services that do not take additional time for you. It is very likely that right now, in your business inventory, you've got tons of products, services and value-add items that are just sitting there collecting dust. If you were to dust them off and prepare them to be used by new and existing clients, you'd find yourself a lot busier than you may be right now.

When we are looking for new money opportunities in our businesses, more often than not, the tools to get more are right in front of us. Because we are accustomed to looking at what we offer, we often miss the "value-adds" that we have had access to since the creation of our business.

This is why participating in masterminds or having a coach can be a valuable addition to your business plan. An outside person looking into your business will quickly identify the value adds that you already have that will cost you no additional time or effort to make available to your ideal clients.

So, how do you create more value and increase your brand equity, ensuring return clients and more referrals than you ever thought possible? Consider these quick tips:

After you create products and services for your clients, ask yourself these questions:
1. "How can I add value to this offering to ensure that my ideal clients will be satisfied, keep returning for more and share me with others they know who have the same problem they used to have?"
2. "What do I have sitting in my inventory that would further enhance the experience my clients get when they work with me?" Note: these items add value but do not increase your work output.
3. "How can I create value that will increase my Top of Mind Awareness amongst my clients?"
4. "What are five little things I can do now to add up to the unassailable difference that I offer to my current clients to get them to upgrade their level of service with me?"
5. "If I were my ideal client, would this add enough value for me to take advantage of the offer?"
6. "What would I want to make me open my wallet over and over again to purchase my products and services?"
Here are some of my favorite quick tips to add into your products and services to add more value, increase your ideal client count and grow your business:
1. Add a gift with purchase component to your service offerings. Think like a make-up counter, when your clients spend a certain amount, offer them something for free. The gift should be something you've already created: like a book, audio CD, DVD, etc. No additional time should go into supplying this item when a client makes a specific dollar amount purchase.
2. Offer a product sampling with a coupon should they decide to buy the full-sized offering. A great way to do this is by offering a sample session for 15 minutes - at the end of the sample session sell them on getting the full hour session.
3. Offer a "done for you template" as a bonus for your consulting services. There are many things that you do easily and effortlessly that others wish they could do. You've probably already created your template; offer it as a free bonus when they become a new private client.
4. Re-purpose some existing content in the form of a free report or audio download as a bonus when someone becomes a client. Everything you do should be recorded, which can easily be turned into a transcript, free report, article, etc. Because you've already done the work, it's easy for you to offer, but it will mean the world to your client.
5. Create a referral incentive program to let your ideal clients know that you are not only accepting new clients but if they refer you to a new client, they will earn a special incentive like more private access to you, an additional product or a significant discount on a future purchase.
6. For your top-tier clients, offer them a significant discount to attend a live event.
7. If you offer phone sessions with your clients, give them the recording for free - your clients will LOVE you if you do this as they will be able to listen back to the value you add and solutions you offer over and over again.

Final thought: It's important to ensure that every time you work with a client, they give you a testimonial based on the results you offered to improve or resolve their problem, which ultimately can be used to further add value to others. People love to know that other people with their problem found value working with you. Highlight those testimonials and success stories on your website, in your e-zine and wherever your ideal clients might see them.

Here's to adding more value!

Weatherproofing Your Incredible Factor - Darnyelle A. Jervey - Author, Speaker, Business Coach

Yes, it's that time of year; its cold, there's sure to be lots of snow judging by the fact that it is so cold so early in December. People don't want to come out and play or network or listen to you talk about how great your products and services are at a local hotel or other meeting place when the roads are bad and they'd rather by cozying up to a cup of hot cocoa in their jammies. At this time of year, the only problem that people are interested in finding a solution to is how to stay warm without a ridiculously high heating bill! Yet, business is still getting done and people are still getting solutions to their problems.

So what does this mean for your business? It can mean trouble if you don't have a plan, a strategic plan, that includes service delivery options that create comfort for your ideal clients. If you offer a service - a coach, speaker, writer, consultant, financial planner/advisor, etc, your product line must be diversified. If the only way you can offer your product or service is face to face, unless you have a 4x4 to handle the weather that you may get depending upon where you live, your business will not be serving many in the coming months.

My personal recommendation is that you conduct a product and service gap analysis. What do you offer now as well as what can you offer in the near future to meet client needs without being harassed by weather conditions? Even if the most challenging weather condition you face is rain and wind, how can you keep your clients safe from the weather while servicing their needs and earning income to support your lifestyle and family? Perhaps you are like me and you coach others and you [unlike me] have always focused on face to face coaching because the breakthroughs are more robust and feeling your client's energy warms your heart, etc. Well, please don't mistake me, that is great. I, too, enjoy face to face coaching opportunities and explore them with my VIP Days, but I also have many other options to work with my clients, which also removes geographic limitations on my business. Ask yourself: how can you offer the same level of breakthrough experience when we are 20 inches deep in the white stuff? Perhaps diversifying your coaching package options to include video conferencing might be a solution. You can still see your client, they can still see you, you're in your home, they're in theirs; but, business is still being done and you are still using your Incredible Factor to solve their problems. And for the most part, video conferencing is F-R-E-E....
This is just one example of how taking the time to sit down and develop a strategy to diversify your product offerings and service delivery methods can increase your client count and ensure that your business goes on regardless of what is happening with the weather.
How else can you diversify your product and service offerings? Need help coming up with a robust strategy? Invest in a I'm Ready to Play Big Strategy Session with me and I will show you how to make this wintry selling season the best you've ever seen in your business.

Your assignment:
Inspect the Incredible: Complete a self-assessment of your current business portfolio and ask yourself the following questions:
1. Determine all of the services that you offer that may be affected by the weather.

2. What can you offer instead? What options can you create?

3. How can you leverage technology to continue your service delivery to your ideal clients? Webinars, teleseminars, video conferencing, etc. Develop a plan to add these options into your current packages.

4. How might creating a passive income product help your product service model?

5. If you have a Blackberry, are you put it to full use? How about offer Blackberry access to your private clients for on the spot coaching?

Once solutions are present, implement, implement, implement...that is what separates the business women from the hobby girls.

Focus on Your Focus Friday

Focus on Your Focus Friday: What you think about expands. Think with power, energy and passion about exactly what you want to expand in your life. Want more clients, want more money, want to attract your soul mate, want a deeper personal relationship and connection with God? FOCUS. When you focus and segment intent that which you want, you will create an environment that rises up to give you that very thing.

Quick example: I attended a women's networking event last night. I was talking to a friend just before entering and I told him that I was going to win a prize. Sounds simple and innocent right? Well, my expectancy was set. And when it was time for the door prizes, I focused through the power of intention on the prizes that I wanted to win. I won a travel pillow - which is so cute and extra soft (perfect for all the time I spend on a plane or train) and I won a 1 hour massage, yum! Just before each of those prizes were given away via drawing, I clearly with power, energy and passion spoke, "This is my prize," and wouldn't you know it, I won each of them. (Now, I forgot to mention that there were two different drawing for which I entered) but you get the point.

Focus today on exactly what you want and will it to come your way by shifting your mind, speaking it with authority and believing that it is already done.

Fight the FEAR Friday - Darnyelle A. Jervey

Today's thought: Let's shift your mindset about FEAR today. FEAR - Fights Every Alternative to Reality. Fear is futuristic. Instead of concerning yourself with what might happen, (many spends hours upon hours talking themselves out of what they know they should be doing because they think that maybe someone will reject them, etc) Stop yourself self-doubt and fear in it's tracks by doing that which you are afraid of and see what actually does happen. Trust me, it will be much better than you thought and you can learn to consistently fight fear - a powerful skill. A skill that will translate into significant productivity lifts to grow your business and life.

Be Incredible,
Darnyelle

Think Big Thursday - Darnyelle A. Jervey

Today's thought: If you desire to have something different, you've got to put positive energy and BIG thoughts behind it. You have to fight for your dream by thinking BIG, acting BIG and making BIG decisions that facilitate the growth you desire to see. Remember, God doesn't give you BIG thoughts to taunt you, He gives you BIG thoughts to show you where you can go if you commit to doing the work.
